• HJTA: Call on your elected official to curb taxes

    In response to the barrage of threats made by Democrats to raise your taxes, Jon Coupal, President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association, released a radio commercial to urge taxpayers to call their elected officials to say “enough is enough; don’t raise our taxes.”

    Coupal also reminds listeners that Californians pay some of the highest taxes in the country, and that our budget problem is the result of overspending.

    As the Democrat leaders in the Legislature and the Governor continue to espouse the idea of raising taxes in California, it’s important to remember just how many taxes we pay on a daily basis.

    Income tax, property tax, sales tax and gasoline tax are the obvious ones. But don’t forget the sewer tax, storm drain tax, trash tax and state excise tax -- the list goes on.

    The following video is a sobering reminder that Californians are taxed from sun-up to sun-down.
